Your Favorite Shipset
 

I've been playing for a while, and have been lurking these forums for a bit as well.

With that said, it's hard not to notice some of the spectacular shipsets some of you guys have put out, and I was wondering what your Favorites were?

For me personally, I love the Neo-Canadian by John Beech, although the Federal Union by Hadrian Haventine looks really good too... those Space Stations look pretty damn sweet.

I have several. The Tessellates and the GLM. But, my favorite is the Puntherraian Shipset. And yes, I am biased!

I'll have to vote for Trooper's Space Sharks as my favorite set. Speaking of which, Trooper, I tried to download the set twice Last night, and both times Winzip said it was a corrupted file. Have you had any other complaints about this?

I 've just made a download try and there has been no trouble.
I think the problem comes from your winzip Version. The file has been generated with winzip 7.0, so an older Version may cause some pbs ?

When asked this question before I have always said United Flora, because it is a beautiful set. It's consistent, but still with the right amount of variation and it has a great speech file.

Thing is though, it's not neo-standard compliant. Therefore I'm tempted to change my vote to Taera Hive, which is great. People criticise it for being too green but I really don't see the problem with that.

Of course, if I was being really honest I'd pick the Vikings or the KanesS, but then I'm biased...

I got my current Winzip off of a PC Gamer disc, so I'm not sure which Version it is. I'll try downloading the most current Version tonight and see if that helps.

I always play the norak, cytherian and zedron, though i must admit if hadrien avantine were to release the vau okaora's that would probably be my favourite for a while, hopefully he'll return and release his new shipsets...

But now i've stopped reminissing back on topic, the phong are pretty sweet as well, and i love the amonkrie units (especially the weapons platform) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I also have a soft spot for a modifed United Consortium of Planets racestyle i have made from the UCP, Federation and DS9 shipsets off New age Shipyards! I just copied all the decent ships and units from the Federation and DS9 ships and replaced some of the UCP Images, so i like that

And Lastly... The romulans by captain kwok for the upcoming star trek mod, i have only seen the main attack ships but thats looking pretty dam good

So well done to all the authors of these shipsets, a big thank you for making the game look so dam good as well a playing great

I like the Zanar'ri ship set Atrocities is making for me, esp. the battle cruiser.

Lets face it, there are simply to many excellent sets to choose just one from. If I had to pick out of the STOCK set, the Xaiti have it. Out of the sets that I have designed for Non Trek, by far the new Starwolf. For Star Trek sets that I have designed, the Dominion/Cardassians easy followed closely by 8472/Ferengi/Breen/Borg

None standard and by other authors, Sharks are damned cool as are many many many many others. I really like the Hyach (Babylon 5 sets).

The Pandoran set will be out NOW. It has all the Neo Standard images. The first set that I have made that does.

Trooper's Space Sharks and Pexlar. The Pexlar are so different and they show up well in the game.
United Flora by? Very creative, cosistant throughout the set and superb AI.
Tessellates, (but I'm biased).

I realy love my three shipsets ! Pexlerr was perhaps the shipset that have needed the more work for its graphics : all pictures have been handrawn, scanned and colorized... a real hell.

But many others are very beautiful : Zedron, Darloks, Taera Hive, Aquilaeian, Cardassian, vidrhine, pyrochette...

Maybe I'm downloading from the wrong area. I go to your website, click on the picture of the shark set, and where it says to download the 2.0 Version, I click on that. Then a file downloads. But I'm still getting that error message. Is there another site or maybe an Intel Forum thread where I can download this from? I really want to use it.

My favorite is the Pyrochettes. The mini images are especially clear and easy to see.

I also like Atrocities new Starwolf set, and what I've seen of Captain Kwok's Romulan set for the Star Trek Mod looks great (I've always been a fan of the Romulans).

I wish I'd used them for my Yendor Consortium in "Strange Races" instead of my own Fractalians... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif it was just the angelic race portrait that kept me from using them...

Also that new Orion shipset... and the Vandron... and the Cluk-Ruk (hey, their ships look PRACTICAL!), and the Dominion (the space amazons not the Star Trek ones), and the Infernal Realm, and the Tylmai, and the Vidrihne...

The Zanarri are a set that I have been working on for Fyron. They are from his SE III ship sets.

Some people might like having weird and wild stuff, but I prefer an industrial, "we welded this baby with our own bare hands" kind of look. Not to say that I don't like the weird and wild on occasion (I still long for the completed new Ri'Chex, which alas may never be), but the Pandoran shipset is certainly going to get heavy use in the near future by me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I also very much like the new race pic you made for it. Very nice, and a vast improvement over the old one.

OK, this is just to help me along in getting promoted to Corporal... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

My absolute favorite is the Vandron. I use that set, with tweaks, as the ships in my home games.

There are a few close seconds. That new Orion Empire looks great, as does Hugh's Swarm, and the Pandorans too. And I must admit that I have a fascination with the old NASA set I found the link for. If I get crazy enough to jump into PBW, that's probably what I would use (with a few switches from other 'low-tech' shipsets).

The Panije used to be my favourite shipset, but I lost the files in a recent computercrash, and there's currently no download of the shipset available. sigh...

I also really like the shipsets by andres lescano very original and really alien (yuuzhan vong, Y'gathian, ghyzrea). looking forward to his dragon set.
