New Star Trek Race the Vaadwaur

Based on the Voyager episode Dragons Teeth, I made this my final Star Trek ship set for SEIV. In fact this will be my Last ship set for SEIV.

I have only to update the Andoran and I am finished.

Please post your comments and such as I really do enjoy reading them.

NOTE: I took some creative licence with this set as there was only one Vaadwaur ship seen. The set is based upon that ship.

Well, I suppose there's something to be said for retiring at one's peak. If only someone had told MJ that... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Once again, excellent work Atrocities, I like this set alot, they have that tough kick your arse kind of look to them. Just the way I like it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

It is sad to see you leaving the shipset designing work, you have truely made a large contribution to this game and made this game even more replayable then it already was.

Another great shipset for the list...

Now that you've retired, you've got all the time necessary to check if I have not made any mistakes when listing your races http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ...

Another question I'm wondering about : Are all your ST races optimized for the AST mod or for stock game ?

260 races ? I wouldn't think there would have been so many entries in the list. Time to stop indeed. Too bad there isn't an award for the game that has the most productive players, SE IV would get it easily.

BTW, Atrocities, do you sleep at night ? do you have a work ? a girlfriend ? (If you are wondering for myself, I've got no work at the time, and I get up early, while my girlfriend stays in bed or goes to work until noon)
Or have you been emprisonned, alone in a cell with a computer for three years ? don't forget to live your life now, there are plenty of things to do outside... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Actually, SE3 had many times more ship sets than SE4 does. Of course, they were all small bitmaps similar to the Mini pics, so they were easy to make. But still. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Theres something to be said at retiring at your peak and this is probably my favourite shipset designed by you! It has that war like atmosphere and is very amazing, i love the shape and texture of these things. It's a shame to see you finish ship design. But if you're learning a new program like Moray+Povray for SEV then i can safely say that the best of your work is yet to come! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

Question: Can Starfury have custom ships in it?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yup, it will be the same model system as SEV will have. In the .x format for DirectX. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif At least that's what I've gathered from the information posted before.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Given your prolific shipset career and having read your comments on the Son'a thread, I can see why you are retiring, although we will miss your input.

Please tell us though that you're not giving up on se4 altogether- you'll still play the game and hang around the forums. At the very least, please tell us you'll be continuing your story

*dogscoff breaks into a cold sweat at the thought of not finding out what happens.

Oh, as a FYI, I counted up the shipsets listed on Trooper's list today. I think it's safe to say that that list represents pretty much every single set ever released for this game so far, with perhaps a few little known sets not listed.

The total I came to was something like 260 sets, counting your new set and other new discoveries today.

That means your 30 shipsets represent more than 10% of all shipsets ever released for se4. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No, the races in the AST Mod have modified files. In order to use a race with the ast mod one must alter the Race AI.

Guys, I am not giving up on SEIV. I am simply not going to put any more time into ship set development as it is pointless at this point given the fact that SEV will be using a 3d engine.

I want to start learning other 3d programs that will allow me to produce ship sets for SE V.

And thanks for all of the kind comments. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Well Atrocities: SEIV's loss and SEV's gain IMHO. As I have said before; me not much of a Trekkie BUT I DO appreciate the effort and the quality you put into your sets.

"I want to start learning other 3d programs that will allow me to produce ship sets for SE V."

You can do both at the same time. DOGA and Bryce aren't suitable for real-time 3d rendering (too many polys) but any other 3d program could also be used to make SE4 ships- you just render bitmaps instead of exporting to a .x file..

Atrocities, has this set been added to the PBW database yet? There is a game starting soon and I was going to use this set, but I don't see it on there. I didn't want to put it on there myself without your permission so I thought I'd ask first. The game won't start for a couple days I'm sure so it's no big rush. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The Suliban? Ok, a bunch of spheres. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

For Enterprise we have:

Vulcans
Andorians
Tholians

We can have:
Early Klingons
Early Romulans

Regarding Enterprise the show.

1. I like it. I have to say that dispite the plot frellups they have done a great job thus far. I like the cast, the writing, the S FX, the stories, and the cast interaction together.

2. I think that many of the "cannon" issues can be addressed. Like the Romulans for instance. We know from TOS that they never saw a romulan let alone knew about them having a "Practical Invisiblity screen. Lets just say for sake of arguement that all contact with the Romulans is considered classified because of how it would strain Vulcan Human relations. That would explain why Kirk and Spock did not know about them.

3. From what I understand the Temperal War thing is going to explain a lot in the final years of Enterpirse. Lets hope so.

4. According to sources, this years season ending episode is going to start Enterprise down an entirely new path. I am intreaged.

5. Eventually Paramount will give the ok for some company or Cable channel to go and "Fix" the old SFX of TOS and replace them with new ones. To modernize the old show so they can resell all the episodes.

6. DS9 is out on DVD and that is great.

7. There is already talk about doing a new Movie, specifics not yet reported, but Paramount is really interested in keeping the movie franchise going despite the horrible box office reciepts of Insurrection and Nemesis.

8. They killed Data. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

9. I have read and heard that Enterprise will feature guest appearances of William Shatner, Patric Stewart, and many many others. That there is talk of doing a time travel episode where Archer, Trip, and the Vulcan hotty are sent into the STNG future. Another episode idea following that same line has Q sending Picard back in time as a punishment or test or something. Time will tell.

10. We have 5 more years of ENTERPRISE and I for one will enjoy each and every year. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: New Star Trek Race the Vaadwaur

I want a movie about DS9, something to tie up the series ending. Those were great characters, and I'd love to see the production values af a movie aplied to DS9. Hell they could have the Genetically Enhanced people bring Data back.
