Plasma Instability Detected

A plasma instability has been detected within the start Zanthris star. (Which just happens to be my home system.) Our scientists predict it will destroy itself in approximatley 3 years. (I am guessing that this will destroy all the planets and ships in the system.)

Is there any research or items I can get to prevent it from blowing up? If not, I guess I better move all my population away for the system.

Oh well.

There is exactly one way to stop that star from going boom.

Build a ringworld or sphereworld around it.

That's it.

And yes it will destroy all planets and ships in the system.

Good Luck!

Bummer, something tells be that building one of those worlds would will take longer that 30 turns seeing as both my Stellar Manipulation and Base Construction levels are currently at level 1.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yup. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif If you are still at level 1 then you're in big trouble. I suggest running like a teenage school girl going to a N'suck concert. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

i'm not sure you could build it in time, with the tech.

Better prepare those transports!

don't worry, as long as you have 250kt cargo and 900kt transports, you should be able to do it in time. panic build anyway http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Any chance of winning the game before then with a mad rush?

Slick.

Note to self: Never, never, never, EVER set the Event level to "catastrophic".

This was with the event level, well I am not sure where I set it, at the default I think.

No, the game is far from over, but I am expanding to the ice and rock worlds now, so I don't think it will hurt me too much. The United Floral Empire just declared war on me, but I wiped out their big fleet, like 18 ships, and I only lost a light carrier, well and fighters too I quess.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hey, that gives me an idea... Move all your population into a transport located on the star, then have them all scream like schoolgirls... this will lure all the Hentai Tentacle Monsters from several parsecs around, then move the transport away at full speed... the monsters, being stupid as they are, will not notice a transport traveling at full warp speed and will instead form a protective shield around the star and contain the explosion http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">There is actually another way to stop a star from naturally exploding: You have to use this device called the Save/Load feature, and transport the universe to a time before it was discovered the sun would explode. An alternate reality will play out, and the star will never get a 'Plasma Instability http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif (Pshaw, it's not cheating, I call it 'being resourceful' http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )

You confuse me, Terran. I was able to manipulate the time-space line using save/load megaspel http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif The key is to find the right moment the RNG (THE ALMIGHTY RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR) is called upon.
