Atrocities, you're the most productive retired I've ever seen ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Very good work on this one, It's always a pleasure to see neo standards races.

He lied about retiring. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif All a ploy to make his sets go up in value. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

And, of course, it works! Mind if this set goes into Adamant Mod? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: The Huron

Thank you all.

The sets that I am releasing are sets that I started before I decided to bag it. I wanted to get them out as they are somewhat intereting and I am glad that people like them.

My god, this is an impressive set to say the least. And they "eat" other races. That is new.

Re: The Huron

So what relationship does this ship set have with the Huron tribe of "native americans" (such a crappy term, but it gets the idea across...)?

Re: The Huron

The question is what do they have in common with the Alien race Huron?

Little is know about the Huron. We know that they have never had a war among their own kind, and that there race is older than the human race. We know that at one time their race explored the stars, and for some unknown reason retreated back to their home world and remained there only until recently. It is rumored that their race was nearly wiped out by a plague and to survive it they cut ties to all infected worlds and quarantined their Homeworld. Eventually all of the Huron colonies were lost and all reminisce of their spaceward expansion was lost. The Huron are extremely vicious fighters when provoked, and since they are carnivores and consider humans as a delicacy, a state of war exists between our two races.

Re: The Huron

Two questions about hurons :

- Is the AI designed for a special mod ? I've got an error message each turn when using it in SE.

- Are you thinking of making a homepage for it on Nasy ? I think it really deserves one...

Nice set, how long until you come up with a name for the blue set? And will it be neo standar as well?

Atrocities
Did you name thses after the North American Indian tribe or the Bird, or the feret or...?

Atrocities June 5th, 2003 08:00 AM

Re: The Huron

I named them after the Tribe. But the race has no other relationship to the tribe past the name. Think about all the names we use for things in sci-fi, most are based on other names such as Remos & Romulos. Vulcan is another, so are the 12 tribes of Battlestar Galactica. A name is but a name.

Lord Kodos June 5th, 2003 10:52 AM

Re: The Huron

Well Romulas and Remus and the Romulans do have some significince. Both the Romulans and the Romans are powerfull democratic empires ruled by a senate with a praetor.

Romulas and Remus where the names of the fictional feral twins who founded rome. Romulas and Remus are the planets the Romulans settled. ^__^
