PBW Server Problem?

Uploaded turn for KOTH and "Turn Executing" came on in red as usual. But it's been saying that for over 5 minutes now. (which is not normal)

Re: PBW Server Problem?

There did seem to be a problem. A couple of games this morning had failed with an application error, but when we kicked them off again they ran fine. Other games ran fine the first time. I reset the server and ran your game. You should have a new turn now. Let me know if anything else comes up.

Yeah, actually the power's out on the block so it's not all that suprisign that you can't reach the site at the moment. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Hopefully it won't be down too long. Not having a storm or anything, not sure what took out the power.

Re: PBW Server Problem?

Yeah, UPS's aren't really intended to keep operations going in the absence of power, just to allow the system to shut down in an orderly fashion and to smooth out momenary dips and brownouts. There are some battery systems that allow continuous operation during a blackout like a generator would, but they are pretty expensive. I don't really think either is worth it. Although I have been meaning to get a UPS to help save the motherboard if we have a storm or something.

I'm sure the power will be back soon. Probably by the time I get home it will be back on. Till I get there I can't do much anyway. so it's gonna be at least another hour I'd say.

Ok, mroe or less. It is back up but we had a couple casualties. Two Users (at least) got deleted frmo the database. Asmala and Sivar. I have emailed Asmala, I don't know Sivar. If anyone knows him or is in a game with him let me know if you know hwo to contact him.

There may be others. If you can't get logged in it may be because your username got deleted. Send me an email at geoschmo@pbw.cc

Also, I have the auto processing turned off. Your game will still process if all turns are in but not for the time deadline untill I turn it back on.

Power was out when I woke up this morning. It's back now and the server is running.

I have auto turns off in case anyone couldn't get their turn in during the down time.

Please let me know if you notice any other issues.
