Man, this game is just another example of the man keeping the brother gnome down!

Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
i once liberated one from a neighbour... Took it across canada... For 3 weeks... Took pictures of it everywhere.
Up mountains , With skies, Snowboarding, Eating at Baniff spings motel. Etc... 3 rolls of film. When I was done I returned the gnome with the pictures... Quite Funny. That gnome went away next year for 2 weeks down east... And then the following year to the states... Then they moved.... |
Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
My wife went through a period where she was under the influence of the evil garden gnomes.
But in the end I was able to remove the curse of the gnomes with the help of several enchanted gnome killing blades. Now if I could only get the cats to go looking for the gnomes.............. |
Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
You think garden gnomes are bad? There are people who put geeze statues (garden geeze? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif ) in their front lawn and dress them up. They change the clothes when a certain event arrives like 4th of july, christmas and so on.
These people *really* need help http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif |

Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
Is there anyone who will read this thread who will be willing to defend lawn or garden statuary?
I don't think to highly of any of it. Lawn gnome, pLastic flamingo, Mary with Small Animals, it's all the same and it's none of it good for my property value. |
Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
Friend of mine had a neighbor lady who would talk to her gnomes. She was nuts and would try to get my friend evicted for just anything like accidentally slamming the door loud or disapproval of the ladies he'd bring home. So when he had enough he kidnapped the garden gnomes and sent pieces of one of them back with warning that she better get along better with her neighbors and quit *****ing over every little thing, or else she wouldn't see the other ones ALIVE again. She still *****ed but didn't make her complaints official with the landlord and everything's fine except the one sacrificed Gnome.

Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
I heard recently (can't remember the source) that there are 10 times as many pLastic lawn flamingos as there are real flamingos in the US....not in my neighborhood!!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
Awhile back here in my hometown this group of people, I think it was some church group would take 10 pLastic pink flamingos and randomly put them in peoples yards. So at any given time someone would have 10 flamingos in their yard when they didn't even want them. It was the stupidest thing I have ever seen done. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif I know some people even went out and threw the flamingos away. But I can't say I blame them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Thankfully we didn't get hit due to living 5 miles out of town. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
We have a ceramic snail in front of the house (my wife got it as a gift). We don't exactly have a front lawn, so it's sitting inside a large vase beside the front door. She says she wants to put 'other stuff' in the flower boxes beside the garage, but thankfully there's no room there for gnomes.

Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
I have a garden gnome. It is a granite carved statue of a gnome like figure urinating a la "Mannikin Pis"
It was a present from my brother who is slightly weird and pokes badgers for fun.. The gnome is kind of lurking in the herbaceous border but when I get my garden landscaped, I suspect he may get relegated to behind the compost bin |
Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
When I lived with my parents... The crazy old german across the street ( sorry for sterotyping germans,,, not all of them are old http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif ) had about 100 garden gnomes.... NOne were ever stolen.
Why. He had this huge deer.... That was the target... But it took about 4 people to move it... At christmas he would create the Birth of Jesus with all the garden gnomes.... and then go griswal with the lights. It was rather disturbing..... People would drive from all over to see the display... |
Re: [OT] garden gnomes...
I'll just bet people who have garden gnomes, pink flamingos, and other manmade infestations of brightly-colored pLastic and ceramic displayed in their yard are the same types of people who stand beside you in elevators and whistle as if they are the only person in the universe, sit in the cubicle beside yours and always use the speakerphone instead of the handset, sit right behind you in a theatre of 200 seats when 199 of them are empty, and park their shopping buggy on the middle-right side of an aisle while they stand on the middle-left side of the aisle trying to figure out if the 12-ounce can of beets costs more (or less) per ounce than the 16-ounce can does.
(ok, OK, so I'm having a bad day http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif ) |

For example, someone had to explain to me that, "bad off", is a Southern term. Hmmmm... [ June 26, 2003, 16:19: Message edited by: Slynky ] |
