OT: latest Harry Potter book.
 

I just finished reading it and I am very dissapointed. What's the big deal about that prophecy ? What' the problem if Voldemart learn it - big deal. He already trying very had to kill Harry. In previous books stakes were really high. But here ? Kind of pointless IMHO.

I find the books a light read, a little too un-serious, and slightly childish. Overall it was a generally good read - though a book i can read in 24 hours isnt realy exciting. I'm not realy going to buy the latest (is it Last?) book because i enjoy "harder" readings - reading the Spellsong cycle now.

Still, for people not as fantasy/sci-fi crazy as me (i.e the general people) the book should be, and is http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif a great read.

100 years from now no one will be reading anything. Dont make me get into one of my gothic apathetic "life sucks" speeches, but lets say I highly doubt civilization will be around then.

I'm really enjoying the latest one. Havent read any of the previous books. I rarely read fiction any more, but as I say I am really enjoying this one. Maybe it's the snippets of British culture that this particular exile misses more than he realizes. I found the movies a little chilish, esp the first one, but not the books.

I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy, reads most I get access to.
I enjoyed HP aswell, you've got to take it for what it is, then you won't be disappointed.
Haven't read the Last one yet but will borrow it at the library later on (Where I get most of the books I read, Libraries are a wondeful invention, now you can even borrow PC games there!).

Can't you see it !? Right now the balance of the world' fate wedges on the well-being of Aunt Petunia. But what if Harry, in whom his mother blood dwells, sire few kids ? As long as mother(s) won't object - he must call it home !, that would be certainly another refuge for the Savior Of Wizardy. Dumbledore is no fool, he must realize this. The sixteen year Harry doesn't know what waits him next term. Thanks to his celebrity staus and Dumbledore charms, he is going to perform the noble but more then ever enjoyable duty of saving us all... Welcome to "Harry Potter and Bewitched Serale". Anoher hint: Madame Trelawney, who already made two accurate predictions abot Harry, prophest 12 (!) Harry offsprings. Certnianly neither Ginger or Ginny are so ignorant to carry the whole burden of saving world. Oleg, you're reading too much into it. It's just a poor excuse to keep Harry living with the Dursleys.

Lily's sacrifice not only saved Harry's life and made evil Voldy dissapear. It was then used by Dumbledore to make a charm that made the natural 'bond of blood' between Harry and his aunt become 'the strongest shield he could give him'.
Thogh the 'bond of blood' between Harry and his hypotetical child could be stronger, a similar charm would require someone else, probably another relative to sacrifice his/her life to save him. Also I think that the fact that Lily had known and loved her sister helped (even if Petunia didn't correspond that love).

BTW I don't think Harry will end up with Loony, nor Ginny, I bet he will go back to Cho.
