I'm a MOO3 refugee. Started posting here about 2 months ago. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

There are no evil people here. If you're used to the official MOO3, you'll find this place surprisingly relaxed. Certainly no trolls or fanboys here.

I dislike the backward-posting system of the board too, but this is just something we have to live with.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ah, you just haven't got used to it yet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif I hated this system when I first joined too, but now I can't stand other methods of posting systems.

Nocturnal: Welcome to the forums, as has already been mentioned we have no evil people here to avoid. In my almost 2 years of being here we've only had one person that made alot of fuss but he is long since gone and no problems anymore.
If you ever have questions about the game just post them here and someone will answer you (with more detail then you may really need) in usually less then 30 minutes. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

You can click "printer friendly Version", it will reverse listing. Personally I like fresh Posts on top - no need to go all the way down, sometimes many pages through and wonder where are the Posts I did't read.

Welcome. Enjoy. I am here because of MoO3 as well. I played SE IV for a long time, then got away from it. I picked up MoO3 because MoO2 was so wonderful. One thing lead to another and I came back here.

Oh, and there are Trolls here. I think you'll be able to tell who they are eventually. But you don't need to worry about them, despite they're being who they are, they don't drop their nets in these currents. Truly this board is a remarkable place.

And I did say that there are Trolls here, but that there is no trolling.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Lurking does not make one a Troll, trolling (think about commercial fishing) does. I'm just saying it's a certain kind of person, even if they aren't trolling here.

We do have Sock Puppets, what makes you think we don't have Trolls.

Again, this forum has no discipline or disturbance issues. It is an oasis of civil behavior in the moral desert of modern social gaming.

Loser, you've made an interesting remark. It reminds me of the clean street/dirty street problem. Give a guy a candy bar and let him walk down a clean street. He'll probably put the wrapper in his pocket. Let the same guy walk down a dirty street. Chances are, he'll throw the wrapper on the ground.

Yeah Loser, what's a Sock Puppet?

* minipol surfs to urban dictionary *

Ha, now i know. Never heard the term before.
For the lazy:

"An account made on an internet message board, by a person who already has an account, for the purpose of posting more-or-less anonymously."

This rules out Fyron. Imagine he would have the time to make a Sock Puppet! Now THAT would be scary http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Hey, Ekolis! (and others?)

Nice signature. I drifted over here... ended up getting Space Empires IV instead of MoO3. Very good game, beat it a couple of times but now I'm on a big galaxy and having manegerial overload (I will NEVER trust an AI governor.) And for the first time ever I'm joining a forum with no lurking period at all. So tell me, who are the evil people to avoid here? Any other MoO3 refugees?

welcome nocturnal. While, as most, i can tell you that this forum is surprisingly a pleasant place to be in (noone will ever shout at you and go to the search). BUT i can answer the inverse chronology question - we had been hit by a Time Distortion Burst. in our case we suffered little - all we got is an inverted forum. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

seriously, it had always been so. SG staff like it that way and dont want to change it, and frankly i got used to it and find it kinda convenient http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
p.s BZZZZZZZZ

Loser: I see nothing wrong with sock puppets, as long as they don't do any damage. If people happen to create one, it's because they have their own reasons.

And to answer Nocturnal's original question: There are no evil people to avoid here, unless you count Fyron's post count as being evil http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

Welcome to the forums. Make yourself at home.

Re: Hey, Ekolis! (and others?)

What bugs me most about the reverse forum thingy is that I can't bookmark individual pages of a long thread because it keeps repaginating. In a normal order forum, if a post is on, say page 10, then I expect it to stay on page 10 next time I come back to it. I can't do this in this forum and it makes trying to read all of the Posts in very long threads very annoying and tiresome.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">While there is little wrong with puppetting in and of itself, it is considered poor netiquette, or socially irresponsible, and is usually used (almost always used) in conjunction with poor behavior. Really, I see nothing wrong with it either, but then I tend to lean rather Libertarian.

There's another problem 'tho. When you search for a certain message in a multipage thread, sometimes you don't even get close to the responce you selected -- and the numbers don't help. The search identifies response number, but the forum doesn't list them anywhere.
