Captured Fighters!
 
Okay, can a veteran give me some info on a possible problem in my multiplayer game of Version 1.49? I launched a massive wave of fighters and they were all captured by the enemy without firing a shot? Is this a bug, or game mechanics that I did'nt know about? Thanks.

Did you watch the combat replay? The display in the turn log sometimes lists things as "captured" that were in fact "destroyed". You can not capture fighters, unless they are in the cargo holds of a ship that is successfully boarded. But then, they would not be shown in the turn log, as they are just cargo.

Sometimes I've noticed the game use the term "taken" for fighters, sats, and drones when in combat they were actually destroyed. It will happen to a ship on rare occasions too.

So yes, there is a bug in the news window

It's just calling it taken, combat replay will show the units being shot at and blowing up.

'Course, if the fighters are on a carrier, and the ship is insurrected, then the opponent will launch them against you. If that's what happened, combat reply will show you that as well.

Agreed.
I have seen this happen multiple times in both Gold & 1.49.
It is a bug that the Combat window says "Taken" when it means Destroyed.
Perhaps send an bug report to Aaron about it.

I thought that a Psycik race could capture fighters the same as ships, If I remember right it has happened when they use psycik weapons on the ftrs. I thought the Cuppa used to do this, I may be wrong tho

AS can only target ships and bases. If it was modded to be able to target fighters, it would be able to subvert them. But, it can not do so in the unmodded game.

I thought I Last saw this in my Gold KOTH game against Tesco.
Sorry I haven't got a save game and have no time to test at the moment.
