Ground combat questions

1) In ground combat does having mutliple weapons on a troop make any difference? Does having 3 ground cannons mean that troop makes 3 attacks, with 3 attempts to hit?

2) I've read that emissive armor and organic armor do not work for troops. Would a troop with a shield and shield regenerator regain hit points?

3) Related question: Is there any list out there that specifically lists which abilities work for which objects (or more importantly which don't work)?

Re: Ground combat questions

Three weapons definitely do more damage. Whether they all hit or miss together, or if they fire separately I don't know, but in the long run, it will give you the same statistics.

Shields do work for units, but act like internal/component/hull hitpoints. Regenerators do not work on units (perhaps drones, though).

Try Fyron's Modding Tutorial website.

Organic armor works by repairing damaged armor components during battle... Since units don't track component damage, the OA never has a chance to operate. Crystalline armor boosts shields, but units don't really have shields (shields act as extra hull hitpoints), so that dosen't work either.

Thanks,

Follow up question: All other things being equal, would a troop with a single 30 damage wpn be equivalent to a troop with three 10 damage wpns?

Re: Ground combat questions

Things that matter in ground combat units:

1)Offense/Defense bonuses, but they apply to the whole stack

2)Weapon damage (not range, reload rate, or supplies used)

3)Hit points (kilotons of structure; through armor or shields, makes no difference)

4)Individual weapon bonuses

Are these assumptions correct? Am I missing anything?
