"Unable to load game" error message in PBW
 

While trying to load turn 73 in Megabaston galactique, at the SE4 load screen, I get the following error message while loading the turn :

"unable to load game "d:\se4 1.84\Megabaston\savegame\BASTON.gam"

Then, when I quit SE4, I get another message box saying "access violation at address 00403309C in module 'se4.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFFFF"

What can I do to get that game back on track ?

I forgot : it is a gold game using patch 1.84 with TDM mopack.

Memory problem? Not enough, too many other applications running or some memory leaking programms have run?

all 3 players have the same problem.
My main game computer has 512Mo RAM and there was 1 or 2 mozilla running with SE4. So it is not memory related. In fact I was able to load and play both PBW turns of Adamant and NGC3.

It is specifically THIS game.

To unlock the situation I will process the turn manually and see what's up to. But that is a weird thing.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is actually not an unheard of problem. It happens occasionally. What happened is while uploading the .plr files for the Last turn one of the players files got corrupted somehow during upload. Maybe a glitch in transfer or something. The resulting file was used by PBW to process the turn and it corrupted the .gam file.

Replaying the Last turn offline or uploading it as a replacment turn and replayign it on PBW will fix the problem. It should not return. If it does let me know.

Playing the turn offline solved the problem.

Now let just hope this nasty situation doesnt arise again.
