Quick Interface question...

...I'm trying to "hide" the planets in the construction screen that I no longer with to do anything with...ie. planets with 2 slots that are already filled and I won't be looking at them for a long time if ever for the rest of the game....

Is there a way to hide planets for this purpose?

By mid game there are so many planets in the list that it becomes mind numbing to scroll every turn checking out your builds and such.

Thanks for quick answers...

Well one way would be to Rename those planets "Z"
and sort alphabetically.

You could sort by # of facilities, and then only look above and below 2.

I'm sure others on the forum have their own ways, too.

I was also searching for that kind of option, but I could only think of a strange fix. I am adding a "Colony Finished" satellite when the colony is completed, and the queue is set on hold. That way, I can see in the Construction Queue window what are the colonies where I can still build facilities.

You could also add other labels so that you will remember that planet will need an upgrade to its [insert a name here] facility, and so on.

It is not really convenient, but I find it to be much easier to manage than having to remember which planets are completely filled up. Hope that helps!

Re: Quick Interface question...

This is what I do http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Use the "PLANET" the "PLANET SY" and the "SHIP SY" buttons to make 2 or 3 separete construction queues.

For planets without shipyards, first sort by number of facilities, then by construction queue.
You then get a nice readable list of planets.

For planets with shipyards, I either do as above or first by name, then by construction queue.

I also usually rename Base shipyards to their system name to get them listed properly.

This works OK even in very large games like the aptly named "Return to Hell" game on PBW where I currently run 750 planets and 1800 Base shipyards.

If you sort by name first and then by number of facilities, then by construction queue, you get them alphabetized first, then the better sorting. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
