What Version of P&N should I DL?

I just checked in the mod section at PBW looking for the latest Version of Pirates & Nomads to DL, and am not sure which one to get. They aren't dated, but it appears that the highest numbered one is v3.1c r8. Or is there someplace else I should look for the newest? Also, is there a Version of P&N with AI enabled so I can try things out playing solo?

Thanks,

SpaceBadger

Ones with "PBW" attached are for humans-only games. The other ones are for games with AI's. I think the latest AI-compatible Version is 3.1c, but I'm not 100% sure - you'd have to ask SJ.

Check out the P&N home page, located on http://www.geocities.com/hohoho611ca/

OK, thanks for the info, Ed and Fyron.

The P&N homepage had even less info about what was different about each Version than the PBW DL page had, but I DLd a couple of Versions and will check through them to see which might be best for me.

Thanks,

I never was good at documentation http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Mostly the newer Versions have bugfixes, balance tweaks and some general added features.

The way the naming scheme goes is:
1.x = SE4 v1.49, using the stock propulsion scheme.
"P&N Classic" is the Last of these.

2.x = SE4 v1.49, using QNP. More features.

3.x = SE4 Gold, all QNP. Even more features with the added moddability of gold.

3.x PBW = SE4 Gold, Humans only. Without the restriction of being playable by AIs, this has some serious core changes, that no SE4 AI could ever hope to handle.

Version letters (#.#a, #.#b, etc) indicate changes/updates that do not break savegames. Forwards compatibility is assured, backwards is likely but not guaranteed.

Minor Version Number changes are the bigger updates that broke savegames.

Comments about the stuff added at each Version can be found in the "A pirate's life for me" thread, though searching it may be difficult.

As for which Version to download, get the latest one that applies to your use.
3.x, not PBW for single player, for example. Also get the AI patcher so you can add some TDM AIs to play against.
