"Only X" weapons
 
I recall reading some time ago, that if we have a ship with all component being structure = 10, being hit first by normal damage = 5, then by "Only weapon" damage = 5, the first 5 damage will be added to the "Only weapon" damage and all go to the weapon.

For example:
Comp... Struc.
Bridge.. 10
Crew Q.. 10
Life S.. 10
Weapon.. 10
Engine.. 10

hit by:
... Type .... Damage
1- Normal .... 6
2- Weapon Only 6

Then the following scenario is possible:

Comp... Struc. Dam.
Bridge . 10 ... 0
Crew Q . 10 ... 0
Life S . 10 ... 0
Weapon . 10 ... 0
Engine . 10 ... 0

... Type ..... Damage
1- Normal ..... 6

Comp... Struc. Dam.
Bridge . 10 ... 0
Crew Q . 10 ... 0
Life S . 10 ... 6
Weapon . 10 ... 0
Engine . 10 ... 0

... Type ..... Damage
2- Weapon Only 6

Comp... Struc. Dam.
Bridge . 10 ... 0
Crew Q . 10 ... 0
Life S . 10 ... 0
Weapon . 10 ... 10 (Destroyed)
Engine . 10 ... 0

Could one hero confirm this behavior?

This happens with all special damage types. If there is extra damage left over that does not destroy a component, it just gets added to the damage of the next shot that hits the ship, taking on its type instead of the first weapon's type.

However, the damage not used BY a only X wepaon does not count as remaining damage right?
I mean that if I have 2 Only Weapon weapons it would not destroy anything like below:

Am I right or still not understanding correctly?
I am trying to see how much the geltube or adamant "leaking" armor ease the use of "Only X" weapons. Indeed if a ship has a big "leakage" armor, then it would be easy to destroy a lot of engine by Only Engine weapon, using let say 2/3 normal damage weapon, just not enough to destroy a "leakage" armor, and then the "Engine Only" weapon.

Am I understanding correctly?

Correct. Any excess damage from Only-X weapons is forgotten.

Excess damage left over from regular weapons just before the first Only-X weapon hits will add to that first only-x weapon, though.

Could someone post a list of the Only X damage types and which ones skip shields / armor and which ones don't?

I think Only Engines is the only one that doesn't skip shields and armor... (well, except Only Shields http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )
