Such deals will be more and more commonplace as these energy resources (oil,gas) will become less abundant. Some scientists say that by 2040, there will be no gas and oil left.
Some weeks ago, other scientists said we will not even make it to 2040.
That scares me more than anything else.

I doubt we'll ever use up -all- the oil. By the time we get down to Last gallon level, it'll be far too expensive to be practical..

As for oil, sounds like it could be a blessing in disguise, to me, in the long run. For example, Rome will be a lot nicer place to go for a walk in, once the air doesn't coat one's nostrils in black tar.
