what\'s the best late-game TDM ai?
 

i want to start off me at one end of the universe, the TDM at the other end and come together in a collosal clash. 255 systems, 20000 ships, 20000 units. and no warp-point opener's. gonna mod those out.

The Best: I recommend the Torons, But it would seem that the Tessellate and the UFE are the best AIs all around.

i played against the rage with a big map in classic. got bored and quit when it became quite clear it was all over but slogging through there systems. i want an ai that ignore's early and somewhat mid-game defence in favor of building up - colony techs, computer tech, planatary utilization tech.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">perhaps the Earth Alliance then. IIRC they concentrate on development and build up a very good economy, if left alone.
Do I understand you right? You want to play on a huge map against only one AI?
I think that you will have a very easy and boring time, since you will colonize and develop much more efficient than the AI.
Perhaps at least 3 good TDM AI and use AI vs human option.

I found that the Flora, Cue Cuppa, Earth Alliance and the Toran are probably the toughest in TDM, my opinion only.

The Rage is probably the antithesis of what you are looking for. They are geared to kill whatever they encounter quickly, and so concentrate their research efforts to that end. If you encounter them early they are extremely dangerous. Later in the game they fall behind the other TDM AIs.
