<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Hmm well in XP Home u pretty much just click the directory and click on sharing. by default it gets shared to everyone. And this works on the folders not under Program Files and it works on the other computers even with folders under Program Files. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

OT XP Home Network prob

So before get in trouble for attempting to kill Bill Gates can anyone help me with this:

Got an comp with XP Home. When I try to share a directory that is under Program Files the other computers get an 'acces denied' error when trying to view it. I know XP Homes simple file sharing wont let you share Window or Program Files but this is a directory under Program Files. Other XP Home computers on this small 5 comp network have no problem sharing a folder under porgram files.

Also the computer giving me grief had no problem sharing a folder like c:\Folder.

Programs don't need to be installed under the program files folder. Sounds like if you moved it somewhere else it would work just fine.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Yea That's what I think I will do. It's just frustrating not being able to share it as it is. I suspect it's an 'undocument feature' of XP Home to prevent us really dim Users from screwing things up. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif (and apparantly a recent 'fix' for XP Home)
