USM

A little poll relating to the Ultimate Strategies Mod (USM). Feel free to post responses...

Nuts... should have had a third question:
Are you aware that you can create your empire file in USM and use it in a stock game, and you will get all of the custom strategies from USM?

Nuts take two... Treat that Last option in question two to include any mod that incorporates USM (AST Mod and Star Trek Mod, for instance, incorporate it, though via FQM).

Re: USM

It will always work (if you do it correctly) in any PBW game that uses stock SE4 or a mod that does not change the racial characteristics or advanced traits. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

1) Load up SE4 using USM.
2) Create an empire.
3) Hit begin game.
4) Hit the process turn button.
5) Save your empire file.
6) Send it in.

This will give you all the strategies that are in USM. Additionally, it will let you make use of the other eye candy text files in USM (such as Demeanors.txt, EmpireTypes.txt, EmperorNames.txt, etc.).

Okey, I'll take your word for it then http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Does that mean I can mod myself some personal formations and use them in PBW games ?
I do miss something useable with the neural combat net, something that really hides that special legendary ship http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

For those who have never used USM, you are truly missing out. I blows me away that there are so many of you who have not discovered the wonders of USM. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Unfortunately, you can only get Strategies this way. Formations are entirely dependant on the Formations.txt file in the mod, unfortunately. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif If you want to play an otherwise stock PBW game, you can just use USM, as the only changes are to formations, strategies, and some eye candy files. It plays exactly like stock otherwise. And, it is a small mod. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: USM

Oups,
Seems like I need to learn how to read again; Strategies = Strategies, and Formations = Formations http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Pitty though, as the formations are the usefull part of the USM (for me that is, as I always micromanage the strategies anyway)

Re: USM

Well you can still start suggesting that stock PBW games use USM so that the formations can be used... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: USM

I use the USm in the two mods I have made. Tis a great mod and a must have for any mod.

It is just a compilation of everyone else's work on these files...
