Spaces per one
Trying to decipher the blah_ai_designCreation.txt file, and I'm not sure how to calculate the results you'd get from the "Spaces per one" entries. Also, how are weapons selected from the Majority Weapon Family Pick and Secondary Weapon Family Pick entries?
Here's a sample from the Amonkrie: Shields Spaces Per One := 200 Armor Spaces Per One := 1200 Majority Comp Spaces Per One := 1200 Majority Comp Ability := Weapon Secondary Comp Spaces Per One := 500 Secondary Comp Ability := Weapon Num Misc Abilities := 10 Misc Ability 1 Name := Point-Defense Misc Ability 1 Spaces Per One := 400 Misc Ability 2 Name := Cloak Level Misc Ability 2 Spaces Per One := 10000 Misc Ability 3 Name := Quantum Reactor Misc Ability 3 Spaces Per One := 10000 ... What would these numbers translate to on, say, a 400kt ship? Thanks! -spoon PS Does Fyron still have the modding tutorial somewhere? |
Re: Spaces per one
Heh, nevermind, I found a helper file on my computer called:
AI DESIGN TYPES DATA FILE - Cheat Sheet and, by golly, that answered all my questions and more. Thanks to whoever wrote that up. Here's the answer, if anyone was interested: As with all 'Spaces Per One' entries, the number placed on the design is determined by this number divided by the ship tonnage, with any remainders resulting in the placement of an additional component. In all 'Spaces Per One' entries, keep in mind that any components placed due to the 'Must Have' entries are not counted when determining how many components to place on the design |

You should send me that cheat sheet, so I can put it on SE.net and make it available to all (more available than wading through the old shrapnel file uploads http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). [ November 12, 2003, 19:58: Message edited by: Imperator Fyron ] |
