Paypal attacked again

SHORT VERSION BY UNKNOWN_ENEMY :
A worm is at it again, this time trying to get from you your credit card infos. Rule : NEVER EVER execute an unwanted exe received by mail from the internet.

MiMail.J worm arrives to plague us

Crooked PayPal scams

By INQUIRER staff: Tuesday 18 November 2003, 09:41
NO SOONER IS MiMail.I out of the way than MiMail.J has arrived on the inbox scene, according to security firm iSecure.

The variant of the dangerous worm has been in the wild for the Last 12 hours or so, according to iSecure expert Ken Dunham.

The reason for the rapid new revs, according to Dunham, is because the crooks behind the scam want to sneak past antiviral software.

He said that the virus writers are now employing a multiple attack approach, with lots of variants launched "in a wave of attacks within a short period of time".

Like MiMail.I, which we reported on Last week, the J variant masquerades as a PayPal letter in a bid to steal your credit card details.

He said: "Thousands of MiMail.J emails are now
lying in wait for the business day to resume".

I got one of those about a week or so ago and laughed. It was promptly reported to PayPal and deleted.

The things people will do to infect your PC and get personal info.

IMHO when the little ****s that are responsable for these virus/theft emails are caught they should be beaten to within an inch of their geeky criminal lives and then made to watch brady bunch reruns for the next thrity years as the only source of human contact while they rot away in solitary confinement as an exaple to all that will follow that such dirty little tricks as these will not be tolerated.

I got that Paypal scam e-mail three times in the Last few days. It looked official so I believed it was real until I read the part where they wanted me to run the attached program, and then I got suspicious. So I ignored the message.
