Quadrant Generation Bug
 
With the latest Version of FQM, I have discovered a bug with how SE4 creates maps (thanks to E3 complaining about a weird map http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). It seems to always make a few systems be the first system listed in SystemTypes.txt file, no matter what the quadrant is like. I added several "placeholder" systems to my mod to make it finding the different types of systems easier (there are many of them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). The first system in SystemTypes.txt is one such system. It is never called for in QuadrantTypes.txt. Even though the total chance for system appearences in the quadrants is 1000 (or 100%) for each quadrant, some systems get chosen to be this first placeholder system. Every time I generate a Dense Grid quadrant, there is always between 1 and 3 of the very first system listed in the map, even though that system is not called for in the Dense Grid quadrant. It is the one with this description:

Name := Stock Standard Systems
Description := ***PLACEHOLDER 1. Not to be used in-game.***

I sent this to MM just a bit ago.

You can remove the problem in FQM simply be deleting the "Stock Standard Systems" system from your SystemTypes.txt file (the very first system). This will even work fine for MP games, as that file is only read when generating a map, never during a game.
