Typical Starting Conditions

When setting up a new game on PBW, what are the most common starting conditions? How many starting planets, how many racial points, allowed technologies, etc. I realize that after playing a large number of games, anything might be tried to keep things from getting stale, but I'm just wondering about some of the most common. After all, I want to experiment with some empire designs using a likely configuration before going on to PBW (after Christmas). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

just jump in!

from what I have seen 3 starting plannets works quite well for most games, RPs tend to vary, and intell is often off.

I'm only waiting for after Christmas because I'm going to be gone for several days, otherwise I would try to join a game now.

I would have said that the default SE IV settings, are common on PBW - 1 Planets, 2000 Racial file, 20K starting resources, etc, but ever game is different.
Cipher, Nothing is stopping you looking at the current open games. I would suggest joining the game you want now, most game hosts will be willing to pause the game over Xmas.
Good hunting. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
