OT: Thread Mechanics

This is the first posting forum I have ever been to where the most recent post is placed at the top, rather than the original post which started the thread being listed at the top. I understand the methodology, but I find it very frustrating and it makes me less inclined to read a thread...

I guess its sort of like driving on the right side of the road in the US as opposed to the left side in the rest of the world...

Just my .02

Don't worry, you will come to realize it is much more convenient for keeping up on a thread. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Just hit the Printer Friendly button, which will display them all in the classic forum order (albiet without most of the graphics).

Also, there are actually a lot of common forum scripts that are capable of displaying Posts in either order. phpBB comes to mind.

...
the 'rest of the world' drives on the right side, only a few countries have left-side driving (a couple US states, England, Australia...?)

As for the forum, it've been that way forever, mod's dont wanna change it and guess its the special mark of this place

There are no US states that drive on the left side of the road.

Taera...there are NO U.S. states where driving is permitted by law on the left side of the road...some old people, blind people and drunk people do it, but that doesn't make it right...

A couple of times I drove on the left side of the road, but it was by mistake. Some guys seemed very angry with me for some reason.
