Welcome to my world. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

The Ai is as good as I can make it. Try playing it on low computer difficulty and High Computer Bonus.

Also the way the empires are set up, they will respond according to happiness type.

The Ai is a one of the very few problems that SEIV has. The Ai will most often go to war with a player such as the Borg early on in the game because the Borg are set up as a hostile race. Additionally, the Ai will always go to war, eventaully that is, with any Human control race. That is just the way the game operates.

The Ai does not do Diplomacy, Politics, and Intel very well in its current state. The AI used in the game is good AI, and they will, or should, be a challenge to play.

Again, don't expect the Ai to stay buddies with you no matter what race you play. The Ai has many factors determining when it will become hostile against a human player.

Thanks Atrocities for your quick reply....Don t konow what time is it where you are but here in Quebec it s 2:45 am (insomnia due to the internet and SE4.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif )...

I ll try what you said but i have to mention that my game is completely on computer control..even me ..

By the way when it s time to build colonies even when under computer control i have to choose the type of the colony i want since the ai do not do that...and i have this other question...Is the king of colony i choose affect the game in any way ?

Re: Question

I dont know if you want the AI on low difficulty. I think the only thing that does, is disable certain features, like the AI's ability to make fleets.

Re: Question

AI difficulty controls which AI ministers are enabled. Anything less than High means that some ministers are disabled, so you are crippling some aspects of the AI empire. Leave it on High, always.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">There is a setting to turn off choosing the colony type under (F11) Empire Status/Empire Options. When it's turned off, the AI will pick a type for you; you can change it under (F5) Colonies.

The colony type determines what facilities the AI will build there. If you aren't letting the AI make those decisions, the type doesn't matter.

Re: Question

If i understand well i have to turn off the colony type control to let the ai computer choose it !

Seems to me that its illogical (I m not a Vulcan.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ) since if i turn off this feature it s under human control isn t it ?..then i have to choose the colony type instead of the computer...I m confused now ...

Well Oleg ..Surprise..The Borg collective has made a trade treaty with the federation..and they have a brotherly mood toward me with a 30 % ratio trade.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">But that is exactly how Borg AI should behave. Ever heard about Federation-Borg trade treaty ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: Question

Maybe this will make more sense. The option lets you turn off the dialog box that asks you to pick a colony type.

I always turn that off, because I can't remember what type I need without looking at my resource production and the planet's values.
