Weapon Family Overlap Bug
Mental Flailer and Allegiance Subverter have the same weapon family number (35). This bug has been emailed to MM.

I pointed this out many times in the past. Since it was never changed I can only assume that MM doesn't consider it a bug, even though it results in the AI switching to the 'one shot per combat' AS and dropping the Flailer.

Perhaps the intent is to make sure the AIs have a (psychic) weapon to use during the early stages of research. Obviously, there is some room for debate over whether that's a worthwhile weapon to use over any standard secondary weapon.

Of course all this can be easily fixed by modding data files and adjusting AI files accordingly.
Maybe someone should send him the edited data files + edited stock psychic AI so all he has to do is include them in next patch. |

Easily fixed means it should be fixed in the stock game... you should not be required to mod a game to fix minor bugs, they should get fixed in the stock game.
