Limts on fighters or satellites or spaceyard bases pre sector?
I'm curious & maybe someone might be sure & save me a whole lot of time finding out...I know mines have a limit per sector of 100 (besides the bug being implimented in earlier Versions) What I'm wondering is, in 1.49 OR 1.84 is there any limit per sector on fighters,satellites or space bases? Anybody know for sure?

Satellite limit is in settings.txt; default is 100 max.
No limit on fighters or bases. No practical limit anyway. I am sure if you continued to put huge numbers of them in the same sector, you eventually will get a range check error. [edit: fighters & sats will count towards the "maximum units in space" limit and will eventually be limited by that (set up at game start); and bases count towards your ship total, which is also set at game start, so these will probably be your ultimate limits.] Slick. Plus, don't forget you're maintenance costs. I'm not sure how much there would be on satellites or weapon platforms, if any, but I'm sure starbases costs some to maintain.

Bases have a reduced maintenance of 50%, but I would believe maintenance is usually not the limit when building bases. Or perhaps I am spoiled by my 5% maintenance Empires, or the NGC3 game where most of us are thriving and could/can support three digits fleets without any worry.

I ran into a situation recently in which I wasn't making enough rads, and I was getting lack of resources Messages. First time that happened. Usually I have enough rads and organics, but in this game (I think it was Star Trek, although I've played several mods recently and it might not be that one) I was running out of rads more than I was making them. So I had to curtail my contruction ques, and research rad extraction 2 & 3, just to keep even. So you need to keep an eye out on how much you're making compared to what you're spending.

Many mods make organics and rads actual resources, instead of just trivialities that in most circumstances you never have to worry about.

A friend says there is a limit on fighter GROUPS in a sector. I am not sure what it is or the problems that occur when there are too many. I think it may be only so many of the Groups are sent into a combat. He fixes it by having a CV load all the fighters it can (loads from smallest Groups first) Then launches them where they add to the largest (or maybe first, but soon largest anyway) group and the limit is bypassed.
