Hey Puke, have you considered updating the Junkyard Mod? On my personal copy of it I've combined it with FQM. The only problem with it is it makes it too easy. To solve this I'm thinking of adding 100 levels or so of useless tech. You know, the all important military disciplines of Underwater Basket Weaving, Compass Reading for Junior Officers, and things like that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

If you're intersted I can zip it up and send it to you.

ive been meaning to update it with planet munching spacemonsters, but i have not combined it with FQM yet. The latest Version has an expanded tech tree, courtesy of Krsqk. I guess it could be made longer... I think it would be sort of lame just to insert 'useless' technologies...

useless? the techniques in that book keep millions of government employees employed in the Terran empire alone! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

You always get "lame" technological boosts between the good stuff. Look at the outfall from the outfall from the outfall from the US space program and it's support technologies.

Teflon coated frying pans, Spandex bikinis, 3M yellow post it notes, funny solver sweat suits, pens that write underwater and can be erased. Car windscreen wipers using foamed neoprene and silicone blades, an enhanced understanding of the human form and physical stresses it can withstand that directly leads to the wonder bra! Did I mention spandex bikinis?

There's no such thing as truly useless technology.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Okay, you have valid points on the subject of useless items. (Although I've kept some of Moo3's pretty pictures) But these are not examples of useless technology. They're examples of what happens when technology falls into the wrong hands.

It takes a strange and evil mindset to create a sugar free doughnut I agree. And as to what drugs teh developers were on when Moo3 was rolled out... I've no idea.
