Silo Modeller (Atrocities please read)

Atrocities, I thought you might be interested in this:

http://www.nevercenter.com/index.php/Home/254

I downloaded the 15-day trial (the full Version is something like $109 so it's FAIRLY affordable http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ) and it looks like a pretty sweet modeller - debatable whether it's better than Wings, but it does look like it has the ability to build using "parts" like Doga (at least I'm ASSUMING that's what the "load reference into scene" command does) as well as model things from scratch. It's a subdivision modeller so you basically set a general outline for your shapes and let the software do the interpolation; you can set how sharp or smooth you want each edge to be. Silo can export to POV-Ray so you can render for SE4, and it also exports to 3DS so you can add textures with a UV mapper and convert to X with 3dsconv for Starfury! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif (Not sure if I'd recommend it over Wings, but I'd have to play around a bit more... it DOES support booleans and extrusions (though it's picky about when you can do them), unlike Wings, which is a biggie http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

*sniffs at the link, nibbles on an edge of it and sits back to smooth his wiskers with a paw*

i've been thinking that i havn't been adding any mouse manerisms to my Posts, despite RP'ing a cartoon mouse. of course, i'm(by that i mean the real me) hampered by never having had a mouse for a pet.

*taps the link firmly with his paw and looks up*

*emerges, dragging a .zip file behind him*

I found Povray / Mowray had to use but the "learning Version" is quite well handled I think (being a total novice at this).

Good site. Good program
