Do you know what really hurts

Is waiting for a long time to get the game, but never really getting a chance to play it. Just to have 4 or 5 hours of uninterupted quiet time to play the game would be a god send.

Thats the one thing I hate most about games. I never get the time to really play them. Ah to be rich an live alone in a nice quiet home.

Isn't gaming what work is for? http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif

Ironically, once you have it - it's not that great. I'm on disability because I almost died several times Last year due to my Cystic Fibrosis. I'm pretty stable now, but my breathing sucks. Anyway lots of time and technically retired at 30, and I feel worthless. I thought the exact same way as you when I was working 60+ hours per week as a remote technology expert...

That feeling of being a zero is almost impossible to overcome... http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif

What hurts is compleltly crashing your new system the night before you expect the game to arrive....

I wish I had hours of time to burn on the computer......but as the saying goes be careful what you wish for....

The rest of this is Off topic and addressed to jpinard--
I dont normally respond to personal issues- Especially here in this forum - but for some reason I feel compelled in this case....(I am sure you have heard it all before.. but...)

IMO- Being disabled doesnt make you worthless.....No matter how disabled you are, the only worthless people are the ones that deliberately hurt others in the extreme. Several recent dictators come to mind...;-)

If you feel like a zero here is an idea
You mentioned your former career, reach out to others with the same disability, teach them about computers, show them PC games, etc...
There are members of my family that are disabled - from my extended families deafness to my wife and my mothers MS.

I feel that it is important that you do your best to get by, Keep your spirits up and enjoy the time you have today doing whatever it is you like and can still physically do, push yourself...and recognize life is far to short to allow yourself to feel worthless, its a waste of your energy.

take care,

AJC

JPC:
I second what you said and I think it was a great post, and appropriate.

jpinard:
We defintely have one thing in common. I am trying to understand as much about this game as possible. If you ever want to team up to do a mod, or you ever need help with one of your own, I'll be more than willing to help.
By the way I think you hold the record with most Posts in a day. Take care of yourself.

Re: Do you know what really hurts

Thanks SunDevil. I'll take you up on that. I'm going to create 3 different mods.

#1 One will be based on myself and what I like...

#2 Will be a race based on utter evil and treachery. Kind of like a Hitler/Evil-Emporer type race that will be easy to hate in the game, but hard to destroy.

#3 A race that is extremely unpredictable. One that in a game could be a wonderful ally, and in another would be a bitter enemy.

E-Mail me OK?
