Map editor - masked backgound objects
In the map editor it's possible to un-check the "Mask background objects" box for nebulaes and such.
Still the planets doesn't show up on the map in the game... What to do? If I make a new system from scratch and add a picture and planets, these show up. But not in the generated systems. Is it the "Physical type" that needs to be changed? What other effect does "physical type" have? |
Re: Map editor - masked backgound objects
Hey.
i know the answer to this one! You are using the ancient trait to check out these systems in game, right? Well, then you have set the system to have sight obscuration! You need a ship with sensors in that system to penetrate those obscurations, when you get that ship in there, presto, new planets to colonize!! |

Re: Map editor - masked backgound objects
What that setting does is tell se4 whether to make black pixels in each object in the system transparent or not. Ships, planets, stars, etc. If it is seleted, the system background shows through the black areas of such pictures. If deselected, you get a black box around everything. With the default game starmap, it is safe to have this set to false, as you can not really notice the black boxes.
