gamename_plr_##_log.txt file questions

What do we know about this file? What causes it to be created? It doesn't seem to happen for every game, but I can't find a flag anywhere that turns it on.

It appears to store the Last three turns worth of log Messages and get overwritten beyond that. Correct?

How long has this file been around? I don't think it was in the original Version of SE4. But I can't find anything about it in the history.txt file.

Anybody know anything about it?

You have a choice, IIRC, at game start up to create a log file for players. If you check that, this file is created for every player in the game. I do not know the significance of the file, nor have I used it in anyway.

Really? I don't see a choice at game startup. I did find an entry in the settings.txt file though. But on PBW that is set to false, at least for the stock files.

Perhaps if that is set to true on whatever machine creates the first turn of the game it stays with the game? That would explain why some stock games on PBW are generating the log files and some are not.

I am at work, so I don't have the game in front of me. Perhaps it was a choice when creating PBW games. Memory is a little fuzzy on this one, but I do remember seeing at game creation, whether that was PBW or solo I can't recall.
