Confused newbie needs help
 

I recently downloaded the Star Trek mod and installed it, but whenever I try to run it recieve a long error message.
The error message deals with problems in the components file. The game doesn't seem to recognize any restrictions other than None and One Per Vehicle, even though the others are clearly at the top in the Restrictions section and calls them unknown values. It also does this with Weapon Damage Type for Double Damage to Shields and Half Damage to Shields.
If anybody can give me a hand here, I'd really appreciate it.

First thing that comes to mind is check your Version number. Not sure about the restrictions, but the various damage amounts to shields were added in one of the patches.

I downloaded all the patches from the site and tried all the data files, but I always get the same problem.

I have Version 1.5.1 if that helps. (I know, I'm not exactly a hacker. Sorry if I sound really dumb here)

I think he's talking about the Version of SE4. The latest patch is v1.91 and a lot of mods at least use features added from the Last one which was v1.84.

I have SE4 Gold.
Where do you get the newer Versions of the patch? I thought that 1.5.1 was the latest.

1.5.1 is probably the Version of your mod, not the game itself. Each modder tends to track mod Versions. Anyways, make sure you have patch 4 at the above site. You can upgrade any Version of se4 gold . If you have SE4 Classic (or non-Gold) you cannot upgrade past v1.49 and most of the newer mods will be unavailable to you.

edit: ok, re-read your post, you do have Gold.
