OpenRPG help, please.

I am interested in playing a RPG(web-based), but I have little experience. I am considering to use a program called OpenRPG, but I am not sure how I should go about finding a game to place myself in, and being accepted by the group that uses it.

I would also like to know of possible alternatives.

Re: OpenRPG help, please.

me and my brother are going to do a 3.5 d&d dungeon crawl. I only have the players manual and a d&d lite boxed thing and for most things that's sufficient, but does anyone know what the 'PG' or 'PC' in the inventory section on the 3.5 character sheet i downloaded off the wotc website means? link

My guess is that these are the names of the coins, so it would give: Copper Piece, Silver Piece, Gold Piece, Platinium Piece. I admit I don't know what are the conVersions rates between these coins though.

i guess i wasn't clear. it has a collumn in the inventory section labelled either 'PG' or 'PC', i can't make out which. i am unsure what this collumn is for and am currently using it for number of items.

Re: OpenRPG help, please.

I guess it would help if I downloaded the *actual* 3.5 sheetpaper instead of the 3.0 one. Sorry for my silliness. I think it is PG, and it is present under Feats and Special Abilities as well. (That doesn't give answers, but merely add another one. What is its use under these two headings?)

As for the meaning, I cannot make out what PG could stand for and apply to Feats *and* to miscellaneous items. Once I am back from school, I will have a look at my D&D books.

Can I please join? Also, I have been looking for some matierial about how to solve your problem.

While this is not exactly what you may be looking for, I thought it may be helpful.

Also, if am allowed to join, I may require some assistance on a constant basis, due to my inexperience. By the way, what is the topic of the RPG in question?

Re: OpenRPG help, please.

well, thanks anyway. in the meantime, do you use OpenRPG? i did kinda hijack somebody elses thread here. (see bottom) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

thanks, Sabin. sorry, but we've started it with pen and paper and i'm not even sure how to move it to OpenRPG. I'll stick figuring it out on my list of things to do 'soon' (rather big list) and, if no-one starts up one sooner, i might be able to manage a dungeon crawl on it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Re: OpenRPG help, please.

I would be attempting to. I can't stand social contact at the personal level, though I believe that I enjoy role-playing. Therefore, I would have to use a internet-based solution.

I thought OpenRPG would be good since it is free and it is still in development.(or OpenRPG II) It also has a plug-in system which should allow improvements for gameplay, both for the game-master and the regular players. If I remember correctly, it can use the d20 system and the 3.5 D&D rules.

I have also been looking for alternatives, and WebRPG is one.(seems related to OpenRPG.)
