OT - network probs
 

problem:
computer wont connect to the internet

setup:
DSL router connects to the net.
all other computers on the network can connect to the net via the router.
all network settings apair to be the same.
computer can see the other computers on the network and is seen by them.
it is not the network card, the problem has ocured before - Last time I fixed it by reinstalling windows. and it has happend on 2 diferent network cards.
computer is running win98se.
router is a Nokia M1122

any ideas??

I am having this same problem with a computer also running windows 98se but I dont use it much so I haven't tried to fix it yet, but I am interested in a solution also if there is one.

Well you're in luck, I hope. I work on computers all the time. I have found that most of the time when you can't get Online and it is not a hardware issue, then it is spyware. I see it all the time at work. Go to download.com ,on one of the other computers of course, and look for AdAware. Install and run it. That usually fixes it. If it does work, make sure you update it and then run it again. This should fix you problem.
