Cant load save file after patch
 

I have a modded game sav from the previous Version. The mods i was running were just the EDF shipset and some custom components that i put together myself (with borrowed pictures). To install the patch i needed to reinstall the org SEIV gold Version from the cd, which I did. After that i installed the patch and did a test run, now i dont actually recall completely but im pretty sure i loaded a save file and it worked, however the custom components werent there so the components on my ships were messed up. So i whent and added back all my components into the data file, and after I finished I ran the game again, but now it gives me a "cannot load (file path).gam" error if I try to load any of my old saves. I rather go back to 1.84 if I have to rather then lose my saves because I rather liked how they were going. But if I could get it to work of course i would much rather play the latest Version. The game is turnbased(not simo) and only versus comps. Please help...

It's a good idea to do mods in a separate folder, rather than directly changing the stock files. The patch overwrote your modded files when it updated the stock files.

I'm not sure why your saves aren't working, though. Could you have put the modded components back in a different order than in the original mod?

Did you accidentally add a double-blank line into the file while re-adding your components?

Lol omg i feel so stupid now. Suicide Junkie you were right i did, but i anticipated that and combed through the files after the problem started, but I guess i must of missed it.
