Hi All,

Been playing SE (from II thru IVG) for quite some time now and I've been looking for a way to give back something to the community for all those great shipsets and mods. (I can remember installing my first Troops mod for SEIII !!!)

Anyways, I've read a few topics around the fan fiction writers and stories for SE and wondered if a site just for fan fiction is wanted / needed. I just don't want to do "another mod site" (no offense to those fine sites already, I just think there is enough of those already).

I'm currently developing a web content management system. So I'm inquiring about the interest in fiction writers to help me beta my product as well as build a SE site exclusively for fan fiction. Maybe game stories if enough interest.

The product is in alpha currently, but I'm expecting beta testing around mid-May.

For those interested, it will (or at least is planned to) be SQL Server and .NET based with file upload, user customization, and HTML compatible (for links within your stories / chapters).

Any takers?

What scripting language are you going to be using?

Most of it will be VBScript and C++ during the beta phase. Then, most "scripts" will be compiled into DLL's for the final Version. This initial Version will use a lot of plain ASP but will be ported to the .NET framework hence the C++.

I'm doing all the DLL stuff in Visual Studio .NET.

We are in the process of archiving the stories on SpaceEmpires.net as we speak.
