Specific Starting locations for Generated Empires or Neutral Empires
Can it be done? I'm currently using Andres Star Wars Mod and I did a quick Star Wars map, he has 6 valid empire files (i'm not counting his EEE file!) and they fill up 1-6 easily. Then I set the 14 other locations, number 7 (which is generated) is always dark empire, always! so I can easily get it in the same spot, however i'm having trouble with the others.

Re: Specific Starting locations for Generated Empires or Neutral Empires
Are you talking about random empires? If so, it can not really be done, as there is no guarantee which empire gets which player number.

If the empires are randomly selected, I don't see any reliable way to do it. If you manually select the AI empires, you could do it quite easily.
Set the first six starting positions as random selections. The first six (human) empires will be placed randomly on these six location. Set the AI empires specifically. Empire #7 goes here, empire #8 goes here, etc. You can then get each AI exactly where you want them. Caveat: I have noticed even when using random positioning, the number one empire tends to end up in the first location you specified, etc. Not a sure thing, but a tendancy. |
