OT: How fast can people run, how high can they jump, how hard can they think?

I'm looking for graphs. That kind of stuff would be usefull if I'm going to be a writer or a programmer, which are the two things I'm considering.

I've tried net searches, but I didn't find anything. I'll be trying some more, but it doesn't look promising.

See you monday.

btw, it is impossible to 'Think Hard'. the thought process is cerebral. It has no physical form. You can however 'intensify', 'focus' and 'clairify' thoughts.

As to how high a person can jump,.. well, anyone can jump off a high building http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

and Lastly, if you run down an almost vertical surface, you could potentially reach terminal velocity.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Have you looked here?

http://www.ex.ac.uk/cimt/data/olympics/olymindx.htm

It is not graphical, but should have the data that you could use to build your own.

Hmm, I haven't run very much at all for a long time.... The Last time I ran a mile was like, back in 1987 or something. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/blush.gif So I'm guessing I don't run very fast, and probably won't get very far before getting tired. As for jumping off a building or running down an almost-vertical surface, I don't like how the word 'terminal' velocity sounds.

Why can't you just make an assumption along the lines of, say, that 1920 data is akin to today's somewhat more casual athlete, and go from there?
