Re: Importance of bridge, troop quarters, life support
If you lose your bridge your ship will sometimes act randomly. You also lose movement when you lose engines, but in combat, you need to lose two engines to lose one point of movement. As near as I can tell there is no difference between an auxiliary bridge and the real thing.

There can be only 1 bridge on a ship, so if want a backup or backups of a bridge, you can build Auxiliary Bridges instead. They are the same thing. As for life support and crew quarters, you can always build more of them then the required minimum. That's why there are no "replacements" for them. You can build 2 instead of 1, in case 1 of them is destroyed. For me, I almost always build ships with the minimum requirement. I think it's better to have armors or shields instead of those backups. |
