Image Pack(s) ?????

Is there any good way to view/print all of the images in the packs? Especially print...

I was thinking of trying some form of thumbnail view in acdsee so I could try and print out reference sheets to pick pictures from while modding...

Copy paste to paint individually and build a page.

Then print.

Why would you want to print them out?

The components and facilities packs have built-in thumbnails, since they are required for the mini pics. Look for components.bmp and facility.bmp

I want to print them out...and have...so I could reference them, and such while building the mod...that way I can pick the picture I want for a particular component.

ACDsee worked like a charm. It allows you to print a contact sheet. So I did the whole pic/component folder. It had 10 components to a row, and like 9 rows to a page. It lists the component file number under the pic (if set up to do this). Total number of pages was 21. It is very cool.

New question. In the combat folder there are contact sheets with beam and torpedo pics. These I assume are tied into the individual weapon components during combat. Is there anyway to designate which ones are to be used with witch weapon during the mod building process? How are they numbered on the sheet. I assume #1 is top left corner and works its way to the left and wraps....

I am glad it worked for you. ACDsee is a wonderful program. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Something wrong with just alt-tabbing into a graphics viewer?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">They are referenced with the weapon display fields for weapon components. You specify either "torp" or "beam" for type, then the numbering in the file is identical to the numbering in other image files (other than how many images are in each row).

Nothing wrong with alt-tabbing...its just easier for me to pick out a bunch I would like to use...then I can cross them off as being used, make notes, etc...Plus I don't have to get mildy distracted or have to push any buttons to go from one program to the next...just look at the paper, and then back at the screen...I know it doesn't make sense, but it works for me...

So I pick the type...ie BEAM, then can I pick the specific beam image, or is it first beam component gets the first beam in the image file, second beam component, second beam image, etc...?

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Weapon Display Type := Beam
Weapon Display := 1</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That second one specifies which image in the file to use.
Start at 1 for the top-left, and count left to right then down like reading.

Sounds like DavidG's uber-modding-utility would be a great boon to you... wish I could remember what it was called at the moment... I think just "SE4Modder" but I'm not sure.
