Question(s) about multiple mods.
Just wondering if you have installed a mod in your base SEIV gold game can you install another mod over it without really causing a world of problems?
If so, how? If not, do you HAVE to uninstall the first mod to try the second or would you recommend having more then one SEIV Gold game you can activate? (multiple game loads on the same computer) If multiple loads, what problems if any would this cause? |
Re: Question(s) about multiple mods.
Every mod should be installed in its own subfolder of the base SE4 folder. You do NOT want to install them into the stock SE4\Data folder. Edit Path.txt to use a mod, with just the name of the mod folder. Most, if not all, mods are set up to extract to their own folder already.
Alternatively, you can use the SE4 Mod Launcher to load SE4 with mods, which is far more convenient than manually editing Path.txt. |
Re: Question(s) about multiple mods.
I'm starting to think SE4 should have installed itself with the stock data folders being Read-Only, and an example modfolder in there too.
Or, better yet, with an option to run from CD, so only the savegames and temp files need be on the harddrive... Then I'd be able to play SE4 on this little laptop with a 1Gb drive. [ May 25, 2004, 22:37: Message edited by: Suicide Junkie ] |
Re: Question(s) about multiple mods.
SJ, maybe you could try deleting the base folders and have path.txt point to the cd?

Re: Question(s) about multiple mods.
There's a setup.exe and folders for demos and extras on the CD, but the data files must be compressed.

Make a cd with the data files on it?
