OT: I\'m back after 3 days no Net due to ISP
 

Here is one for everyone that I was talking to in the OT threads...been without net access for 3 days and just got it back.

Tech support did everything you could think to fix it and finally had to send a tech out here. She hooked her laptop up and it worked fine. Said, "Problem is with your computer."

I shook my head and told her "Have 4 computers that use this router, the router is fine as is the modem. NONE of them can get out. I can't believe 4 computers, 3 of which are not even used often, all have the same problem. How about trying to connect with my login and password?"

She did and found out they jacked with my account somehow and locked me out. End of story, they messed up and I don't get charged $60.00 for the tech trip and didn't have to pay $100.00 for a new DSL modem.

But, lost access 3 days...eh...

I shipped my computer cross-country with UPS. It just arrived in San Jose (where I am staying for the summer), and it is completely trashed. When I opened the box, both the sound and video cards were popped out of their slots, and the metal guards for them on the back of the case were bent. A few chips on the motherboard itself were knocked off, apparently by one of the 5.25" bay covers which was also knocked out... the best description would be one my friend made soon after I opened the box: "Damn, that box looks like it went through a f**** meat grinder".
