Re: Blockades
How do you blockade a planet, without attacking
it? |

Strategic is a little harder, it's a matter of making sure you have your fleet strategies and ship strategies correctly set. ALternatively, send in an unarmed (or armed only with PD) ship. |
Re: Blockades
Also, set your fleet leader to a ship with no weapons. It will run away from the planet instead of attack and the other ships will follow. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Blockades
what is the point of a Blockade, since the planet can still build or does this stop the empire as a whole from getting any resources from said planet?
|
Re: Blockades
Yes, it does block resources and research and intel.
The point is generally to block these without having to fight the defenses (except mines), and/or to do so until your troop ships can arrive so you can take the planet intact, and/or to irritate the opponent and make him waste inordinate fleet resources chasing your blockaders. PvK |
Re: Blockades
Does blockcading the planet with a spaceport effectively block the rest of the planets in the system?
|
Re: Blockades
No. System-wide abilities of a blockaded planet function normally. It is only the resource/research/intel production of the blockaded planet that is affected.

Blockades
When I blockade a planet, what happens to the production of research and intelligence?
I know that the production of minerals, orgs and rads stops, but I have my doubts about research and intelligence, since these two don't need an spaceport to be avaliable for an empire.... |
