Bump (Good question)

Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
Hmm, do you mean with the host NOT playing in the game itself?
I imagine the PBW RTC would look exactly the same as that from the outside. |
Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
Yeh, like, the way gold as the tcp/ip games, have a host comeputer that doesn't need a player at it to click the 'prossess turn' button

Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
That is a very handy feature. The Dom2 game has it. I cant even picture running that now with a host also being a player.
Even handier in my opinion is the "VGAPlanets" method of having a seperate host.exe which can have a much smaller CPU footprint. |
Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
so does anybody know how to do this? how does the PBW prossess turns? i can imagine it would be sompthing LIKE what i'm trying to do...

Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
It processes turns by running the game with command line parameters, in host mode. You could use Ruatha's PBW Emergency Site script. It has a batch program that will execute SE4 and such after all turn files are uploaded (or available).

Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
Do you know where i could get a list of the command line commands?

Re: SE4 Gold TCP/IP
The command line syntax is found in the History.txt file in the main SE IV folder. It's under the changes in v1.39.
