New Game Idea!
In the begining God created Suns and plannets and interesting storms and God looked at his creation and it was good.
God then decided that his galaxy needed something more! so he created lots of races which populated the galaxy and GOD saw this and it pleased him. And the races which populated the Galaxy fought wars and made peace and grew great Then the Kings, Empires, Precedents and other polititios made a galactic alliance and promised peace to there citizens And God saw that the races had grown brains and was verry Pleased and God Blessed the races with prosperity. But the races Grew proud and forgot God and said "Look what WE have created! Look how We have become GREAT! Let us Create more and become One race! then We ourselfs will become as God!" and God heard this and was wrath. so God snaped his fingers and created confusion among the peoples, and the races became fearfull of eachother and Wars did they fight one againced the other. and yet they still did not remember God who gave them life and made them prosper. And the Races did Create Bigger and better ways of killing eachother, and massive ships destroyed plannets, and some of the people rememberd, but there brothers did not listen. Then the Empires built ships to destroy Suns and did use them againsed each other so many of the people were killed, and there souls did cry to God that he might stop the madness and God did listen. and God said "Let there be Storms for a time" and system Storms did become sevear, so that ships could nolonger cross them without being destroyed. then God said "Let the Warp points wain" and the warp points did wain and became to small to get even the smallest scout ship through and some even disapeared... Then God said "because you have forgoten me and have become proud you shalt forget what you have learned for a time and your plannets shall die, and your colonys with them" and many years did pass and as God had said the plannets did die, and the people did forget how to farm and how to mine and how to build fast engines. and the people began to deminish. And the people cryed to God that he might forgive them and allow them to continue in the Galaxy he built. and God did listen and said "Because you have rememberd me I will not let you die, thou shalt live but be scatterd among the stars" and it came to pass many generations and centurys did go by. and there was naught left but a few habated plannets from each race and they were scatterd and unknown to each other. and the people did start to learn again the ways of sciance and did start to build ships which could travel through space... ohhcay. theres the story now for the game setup probibly use a mod for this, tempted to use adamant or devnul... but each player gets 2 empires to control - both empires MUST have the same empire file and shipset. each pair will be seperated from each other. with other empires between them. Ship Trading will probibly be off intell will be on esp if I use a mod. I will need a Map edited for player placement and maybe a handfull of ringworld in hard to get places. how would be the best way to set this up on PBW? can an Admin force a single pbw login to two diferent races in the same game? if not could we create teh slots and finish the second pair? will PBW accept an player file for an empire it thinks is finished? any other work arounds for this??? any other thoughts and sugestions on this game? |
Re: New Game Idea!
Sounds like an interesting concept. I would be willing to participate. If so I vote for Devnull.

Re: New Game Idea!
Can this situation be simulated by starting 3-planet game, and then setting 3 different start location for each player in the different sides of quadrant?

Re: New Game Idea!
No, the map editor only allows you to set one start point per player. A multiplanet start will place the first planet at the start point, and the others semi-randomly.
At least I think that's what I remember it doing when I tried to do something similar. [ June 16, 2004, 18:27: Message edited by: capnq ] |
Re: New Game Idea!
I like the concept and really want to play this one, So let me know if I'm accepted SE5A.
BTW: I don't see the problem that we have 2 userid's for this game, I understand Geoschmo's reasons. But people who are willing to abuse this are probably already doing this (and we will never know) so the 'honest' players for this game must be allowed to have more userid's. BTW2: I'm in a game where the gamehost control's 6 or 7 races for roleplay purposes, it is a great game and it works perfect !!!!! Inti, |
Re: New Game Idea!
you could set it up so that the host runs the first several turns for each player, just enough to build colony ships and set up second colonies, and maybe to build some facilities on the second home world.

Re: New Game Idea!
You'd probably need to do this PBEM. There is no way for one userid to control more then one empire in a PBW game. You'd have to have two userid's each, and we seriously frown upon that sort of thing for obvious reasons.
I suppose if you are set on it we could make an exception for this game. I'd ask that you make your second userid some form of your original userid so it's clear to everone it's being controlled by the same person. (ie, Frank and FrankTwo) Geoschmo |

looks like we might eather do it PBEM or do as geo sugested and used something obvios like scout scout2 Intimidator: what Mod do you vote for? im still hesatent over eather of those, adamant doesent quite have the right feel to it, though I am leaning towards that one as I prefer the plannet combat. I thought of using proportions but its probibly a little to slow... still need someone good at makeing/editing Maps http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif if the worst comes to the worst I will try to do it myself (though from past experiance I found it verry frustraiting) and be host/god http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif |
