Concerns...
Memory Leak & Range Check errors...
How severe are these two problems and do we have a time frame on when these two issues will be resolved. I have not seen a response on either of these two subjects from Shrapnel nor Malfador. I am relunctant to play this game as long as these two issues are present. I know Malfador had recently took some well deserved time off but I would like an update on their progress and when we might expect another patch. |

Just played 59 moves this morning with no problem before stopping to watch the NFL game. I have Pentium 200, 64 MB memory and Win ME. I didn't notice memory filling up but then I didn't check with system information either (will try that next time). It may not be a problem and if you save game each turn it wouldn't be a high risk to play. Also I am not playing with a huge number of units and ships which migh keep the range checks away. Re: Concerns...
I have never seen these either. have a 400 with 256 meg memory, 1g swapfile.

Re: Concerns...
These errors are most frequent when someone has modified their local game configuration data incorrectly.

Re: Concerns...
Actually the memory leak for me at least seems to come from the use of fighers (I use ALOT http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif After less the two hours of play, SE4 was using over 400mb of memory (350mb of my physical, and 50mb of swap)
