OT: DVD Recommendation

If you have not yet rented or seen Blue Collar Comedy Tour, the Movie, you must.

"You can call me Tator Salad."

I sware to god I have not laughed so hard in all of my life out side of being horribly drunk while watching the bugs fly into the green light of the electric pest zapper.

I don't want to spoil it for any of you, but when they all four come on stage together, that is some seriously funny stuff. "Thats Not Grandma!"

"I didn't get here today by worring about how I was going to feel tomorrow." - Ron White.

Men In Black 1. 2 can be safely skipped, but 1 is a classic.

Oh, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Classic.

The LOTR films, of course.

Mousehunt. I've mentioned this before and I'll mention it again. My liking of it has nothing to do with my Online persona. Or, that is to say, I'm not promoting this because it has a mouse in it.

Uh, hope I'm not hijacking the thread.

Hell yeah, Ron White is ****ing hillarious, you ought to get his 1 man show DVD, it's got even more cool material. Stuff I've rented/bought recently:

LotR Trillogy(I got the regular DVDs seperately for like $8 each, not the 00ber 1337 box sets, but still kicks ***)

Kill Bill V1(the fight scene at the end was awesome, the rest of the movie is just.... "stylish".)

City Hunter(an anime movie based on a series about a perverted private dick http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif , nice animation, good action sequences, ok story, very funny situations to, I love seeing Saiba get bonked on the head by a 100kg mallet http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif )

Outlaw Star series DVDs(3, 2 disc sets, each has 8 or 9 eps. great series, all around well done, got action, humor, great characters, mystery. Great Space adventure.)

Cowboy Bebop, The Movie(based on an anime series about a bounty hunter and his fellow crewmates, great action, plot, awesome animation, great soundtrack, very good movie)

Kermit, the Early Years(muppets own, 'nuff said)

Final Fantasy, The Motion Picture(Jerkoff fanboys judge this movie unfairly cause there are no "chocobos" or he-be-she-bees carrying huge imposible flame shooting swords. What it is, is a decent post apocaliptic Sci Fi adventure about a scientists and some soldiers trying to save the earth from an invasion of phantom life force. It's worth a rent to see the animation and visuals alone, there are also great characters, good VAs, and an ok story, not the greatest movie, but it's not as bad as moron fanboys will tell you)

Creature Comforts(Now this one is awesome, it's Rare, but worth it if you can find it. Made by the same people who did chicken run, it's 4 claymation shorts that are 6-11 minutes long, you HAVE to watch these, they are hard to describe but hillarious. "My Auntie is a Zombie from Hell http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif )

I have over 200 dvd's, but having a kid and a wife who doesn't watch movies all that much, I've probably seen about half of them. I'm more of a dvd collector right now. And even when I do watch the movie, I don't always take the time to watch the extras. Heck, I haven't even gotten teh chance to watch the Indiana Jones DVD's. So the movies I've enjoyed on dvd so far are Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Rat Race, Where Eagles Dare, and quite a few more I can't recall right now. The ones I watch with my son are ok; movies such as Scooby-Doo, Kangaroo Jack (I wish I had the widescreen Version, but my wife bought it, not me) and the Hulk. I wish I could find more time to watch my movies, but I just view them when I can.

"Ice Age". That stupid disney cartoon. Much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. in fact, I dont think my kid got half the jokes I was laughing at. If you ever have a mixed crown and arent sure what to get, its a great popcorn flick.

At the other end of the spectrum its always fun to find someone who hasnt seen "Rocky Horror Picture Show"

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Yeah, I enjoy, and so does my son, all of the Pixar movies: Toy Story I & II, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. I also like Ice Age, Shrek and Titan A.E. I also have quite a few of the special edition Disney flicks, such as Beauty & the Beast and Lion King. But right now, I think my son's favorite movies are Hulk and Kangaroo Jack.

As far as Rocky Horror, it's been over 20 years since I lost my "viginity". But it's not something I really anticipated or enjoyed. I didn't know what I was getting myself into when a group of my friends took me and my wife to go see it. I tried to enjoy the movie, but it's hard to with all of that activity going on. I think the DVD is available, but I don't have any desire to get it.
