Quadrant types
What exactly are the differences between a mid-life and ancient quadrants? Which do you prefer and why?

Re: Quadrant types
The mid-life does not have as meny blackholes per the manual. But I have found that it has a large number of nebula. The other has more blackholes and appears to have more storms also.
I play mid-life most of the time. |
Re: Quadrant types
In anciant galaxies each system has about a 75% chance of being devoid of planets (a black hole, nebula, or asteroid field). I like them in hotseat games, but I aoid them against the AI because the poor thing can't ever seemt get more than 3 systems because it can't handle the increased range between inhabitable systems. You keep running into these hoards of colony ships out of supply and getting swallowed by blackholes totally choaking the AI's economy. Galactic Edge maps are similar, but they have many more habitalbe systems. Still both types seriously hurt the AI's performance.
I find the AI works best in grid and mid-life quadrants. ------------------ Compete in the Space Empires IV World Championship at www.twingalaxies.com. |
