Yet another mod. In mods section
Just posted a small mod that makes supply storage components count as cargo storage so you can make transports into tankers. Go get it if you want to.
(You can use it to make a ship with a LOT of supplies, but less space for defenses. Sort of how navy supply ships nowadays are pretty much unarmed, if armed at all.) I was wondering one thing, though. I think it was in another topic but I can't remember which. Can you change the "Requirement Pct" section in Vehicles.txt file to something like Space Yards? Or will that cause the game to choke on it since it wasn't told to look for that variable? IIRC, someone tried it for something not actually in the game (laser cannon or something) and it didn't work. Would something like Space Yard work? If not, drat. ------------------ -- "What do -you- want?" Re: Yet another mod. In mods section
I don't *think* so. I know I've tried using Requirement Max # for a custom group and it never worked.

Re: Yet another mod. In mods section
It won't cause any errors, it just won't work.
My attempt to do so was when I was trying to design boarding shuttles, ala the Thebans from 'Insurrection' by David Weber and the Starfire game. 60 kt fighters that had to mount 50% as boarding crew. Unfortunately, the computer didn't make any such requirement when I went to design one in game, and I ended up with a 60 kT fighter, a bit too large and powerful for a fighter http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif Oh well. Okay, I'll just make the space yard ship hull even worse than usual. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
I'm also messing around with systemtypes.txt. Basically adding some more moons here and there, with some variations in size for a few. I wish I could set the odds of a particular size, though. I set some of the moons to 'any' so there'd be a chance of double planets, but I keep getting a LOT of double planets. I'd like to be able to set the main planet's size to err towards the larger and the moon to err towards the smaller, but with a chance that it can be equal size to the main planet. Sort of like the Vulcan and Romulan homeworlds. ------------------ -- "What do -you- want?"
