Ring World question
Just about to try to build my first ringworld. I got 11 shipyard ships now if I gather correctly I have to build 11 bases with the 11 components to build it on them. Can I build these all in one spot? Does it have to be on top of the star? Does the system have to be empty except for asteroids? Thanks.

Re: Ring World question
You have to put the components on starbases since nothing else will fit, so you have to build the starbases all together while sitting on top of the star.
Watch out while building the starbases as the use as much organic and radioactives as they do minerals! Edit: Forgot one, you can build it in your homeworld system for all it matter. As long as the system has a star you can build there as far as I know. I recommend building it in a system that has some defenses in place to keep intruders out... Re: Ring World question
Your best bet is to make your shipyard ships and component bases as bare bones as possible. This will help keep the cost down.
Also as an added precaution, build storage planets. IE, large capacity planets with tons of mineral, organics, and rad storage. I am talking tons. I have three gas worlds filled with nothing but storage facilities for each of the minerals, orgs, and rads. |
Re: Ring World question
I have the Last AI player pinned in with overwhelming force just so I can finish out the research tree and try the ringworld. I have 1.5 million minerals and 500K each of organic and radioactive that better be enough! Otherwise not worth building them under any circumstances. Thanks for the info
